It takes real technique and skill to produce solid cosmetics. R&D is integral to our growth strategy here at La Savonnerie des Alpilles, and we invest in new technologies to mechanize our production lines. A case in point: we are preparing to launch hot-process solid cosmetics.
From shampoo and face masks to balms and stick deodorants, shaving soaps and toothpaste, today the bathroom is at the forefront of the green revolution towards travel-friendly, natural and zero-waste products. At La Savonnerie des Alpilles, we draw on innovation and technology to enhance natural and pared-down care products, in line with consumers’ expectations for transparency.
With millennials demanding that cosmetics brands take responsibility and concrete action to reduce the environmental impact of their packaging, waterless solid cosmetics provide an ideal solution. The solid cosmetic trend responds to a number of environmental concerns, as dermatologist Nina Roos explains, “In the face of cosmetic overuse, this return to a certain simplicity which is better for the environment and the wallet, is positive. What’s more, there’s now more choice, and these products are based on a traditional artisanal knowhow that was at risk of disappearing altogether.”
With the demand for sense in the beauty and luxury sectors at its peak, a return to traditional knowhow and natural products is a priority for La Savonnerie des Alpilles. Our products are safe and highly concentrated, containing over 97% natural ingredients.
Just as we see in food and fashion, the beauty industry is focused on becoming eco-friendly, more responsible and producing less waste. Solid cosmetics are a perfect response to the need for transparency and a return to simplicity.
Fans of soap bars were onto a good thing! Solid cosmetics have it all : they are perfect for travelling, easy to store, long-lasting and zero-waste. With solid options now available for most of the cosmetic products in our bathroom cabinets, this movement is winning over increasing numbers of consumers keen to change their lifestyle and reduce their environmental impact.
Did you know one shampoo bar provides the same number of washes as three 250 ml bottles of liquid shampoo? That means less plastic, lower transport costs and a smaller carbon footprint.
Solid cosmetics are not only zero-waste, they are also preservative-free and require less water. Because soap bars are more natural and less textured, they are quicker to rinse off in the shower.
For our shampoo bars, wet your hair and the bar, then rub directly onto the lengths and tips of your hair. Massage into your scalp to lather, then rinse.
For our solid toothpaste, run your toothbrush under water, then brush it over the toothpaste cube before cleaning your teeth.
For our solid products for face and body (such as our balm or solid deodorant), apply directly to the skin or rub between your fingers before massaging into the relevant area. The vegetable-oil base means they solidify at room temperature and melt when heated.
